Hanshy's blending process is a key factor in the company's success. Although single-estate teas are available, most of the teas sold in bags and other teas sold in the West are blends. The aim of blending is to obtain better taste, a higher price, or both. Some teas are not pure varieties but have been enhanced through special processing. Tea is highly receptive to the inclusion of various aromas, which allows for the design of an almost endless range of scented and flavoured varieties.
